Literature retrieval and utilization course in colleges and universities can cultivate students＇ information consciousness, which is very important the era of knowledge economy. This article,from aspects of the literature retrieval and utilization course con-tent,significance and examples,illustrates the importance of establishing and utilizing this course,calls on all higher learning institu-tions to integrate the course of literature retrieval and utilization into teaching plans as soon as possible in order to train students＇ ability to work independently,expand thinking,and make innovation,and improve students＇ ability to analyze and solve problems.
