The Chinese character 丁 （Ding） whose character strokes are simple has a long history and already appeared in Jia Gu Wen（inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells）. Scholars have different opinions about the original meaning of the character. The paper made a study of T （Ding） from various aspects of its font evolution, structure, meaning and cultural connotation.
