The debate for the essay study of the 20th century

20世纪中国文学研究中的散文研究存在误解、争议和偏见,散文文体的独特性和价值性被低估,其原因在于散文自身的宽泛性、外部的时代性等。新世纪的散文研究要走向深入和阔大,散文研究者要建立现代意识的散文批评视野,在建构散文理论话语时要注意中西理论的圆融与自洽,还要与整个学科的建设相结合。由此,散文的文体问题,也还有巨大的研究空间,学术界需要不断开拓散文的研究领域,建立良性健康的散文评价标准和价值观念。

Due to the misunderstandings, controversies and prejudices in the study on Chinese literature in the twentieth century, the uniqueness and value of the essay style is underestimated. The reasons lie in the compre- hensiveness and external temporal spirit. The deepening and expansion of the essay study of the new century and the researchers＇ construction of essay critical scope shall not only attach importance to the integration and self - sufficiency between Chinese and western theories, but also be combined with the construction of the whole sub- ject. Consequently, there is still huge space for essay style research, and the academic circle need to constantly open up the field of research and establish sound and healthy evaluation standard and values of essays.
