The present essay studies the definition of neologisms. The essay also analyzes the cause of their formation and their common characteristics in development. The research shows these new words are produced in clusters and tend to be shorter in spelling. The neologisms resemble a continuum, of which one end is temporary coinage and the other end is complete accepted. Only after a certain period of time can the neologisms become the entries in a dictionary.
