A Study of Some Problems in the Process of Urbanization in Rural China

改革开放以来 ,中国农村城镇化进程是对城乡分割“二元体制”的一种突破与创新过 程 ,但这一过程也受到了“二元体制矛盾”和人地关系紧张这一基本国情的制约 ,并由于对 传统城市体制的复制 ,不断使其付出了巨大的制度成本。中国农村城镇化的主要矛盾已 由开始的“低度城镇化” ,即缺乏城镇化支持的工业化转向“过度城镇化”

Since the reform of China, the progress of rural urbanization has been the progress of breakthrough and reform on the 'dual structure', but the basic contradiction between the limited land and the numerous people has always constrained the progress. In current, the main problem in the development of little cities and towns is over-urbanization that means the present development of little cities and towns lacks of the support of population and industries. But in the past, the main problem is under-urbanization that means the urbanization progress falls behind the increasing of population and industries.
