唐代墓志中“举大事”考辨

On the Phrase of Ju Da Shi (举大事) in the Epitaph of the Tang Dynasty

以洛阳出土的唐代景教石刻《幢记》中的"举大事"为引子,结合唐代墓志中的其它语料,从语言学的角度进行考察,梳理出"举大事"的词义演变过程,得出"举大事"有"定葬"义,并揭示其内在的文化意义。

With focus on the phrase of Ju Da Shi （举大事） which used with a high frequency in a Buddhist Scripture known as Dongji （幢记） unearthed in Luoyang, in the form of Nestorian stone inscription originated in the Tang Dynasty, the paper probes into the semantic evolution of the phrase of Ju Da Shi（举大事）, with some other data in the epitaph of Tang Dynasty, from the perspective of linguistics. Based upon this, the conclusion reached that the phrase of Ju Da Shi （举大事） has the meaning of burying, and reveals its inherent cultural significance.
