摘要
连续体理论认为,词汇习得是一个在现实的语言环境中,不断接触新词而形成的多层级、不断发展的学习过程。研究结果表明:在大学本科基础阶段,英语专业与非英语专业学生在词汇水平、习得速度等方面存在明显差异,并随着年级、性别不同词汇能力也不相同。这些现象与教学方法、学生学习动机、课堂环境等因素密切相关。提高本科学生基础阶段词汇能力,既要不断更新教学理念和方法,还要培养学生参与学习的主动性;既要培养和提高学生学习兴趣,树立正确的学习态度,还要大力倡导词汇的自然习得。
The Continuum theory holds that vocabulary acquisition is a learning process in which students get different uses of a word through the constant acquaintances with the word in different language contexts. Research results show that during the first 2 years of university students, English majors and non - English majors are obviously different at the level of vocabulary and at the speed of word acquisition. The differences are also embodied in the students of different sexes and in different grades. Such phenomena are closely related to the teaching methods, students' study motives and class environments. To improve students' vocabulary ability, the first is to update the teaching ideas and methods to cultivate students' autonomous learning; the second is to help them cultivate their interest in studies and form correct attitudes toward studies; the third is to advocate the natural acquisition of vocabulary.
