Su Dongpo’s life had forged a close relationship with“boat”. In his poems, the“boat” is a remarkable image and worthy of researching. The paper had collected the frequency of “boat” in Dongpo’s poems, and discussed the relationship between the “boat” and Dongpo’s soul as a poet. On the one hand,“boat” not only gave him the urgent sense of life, but also comforted his loneliness most of the time; on the other hand, the “boat” seemed to have natural connection with “return”. Dongpo aspired to “returning to tilling”,“escaping”or“seclusiveness”,“boat”was the carrier of these aspirations, so the connotation of the“boat”in his poems was very rich.
