掌上图书馆的建设已经成为现代数字图书馆建设的必经之路,3G移动通信技术的成熟、4G移动通信技术的出现都为掌上图书馆的建设提供了机遇和可能。简述了掌上图书馆和掌上图书馆可用性的概念及可用性研究的必要性,着重介绍了掌上图书馆可用性评价指标和评价方法,并提出了提高掌上图书馆可用性的建议。

The construction of handheld library has already become the the only way of constructing the digital library, and the matureness of 3G mobile communication technology and the emergence of 4G mobile communication technology provide the opportunity and possibility for the construction of handheld library. This paper briefly expounds the concept of the handheld library and the necessity of studying handheld library＇s usability, emphatically introduces the evaluation indexes ans evaluation methods of handheld library＇ s usability, and puts forward some suggestions on improving handheld library＇ s usability.
