Cultural Nationalism and Serf-consciousness of National Culture

一种文化民族主义的观点声称，西方文化已经进入了死胡同，资本理性和科技理性已经走向末路；我们要实现中华文化的伟大复兴，就要回到中国传统文化尤其是“前孔子”中去寻找出路。然而，当今世界文化相互激荡的事实提醒我们，文化民族主义要想达到民族文化自觉，必须在中西文化相互交流的大背景下，积极引导文化民族主义自觉发展，避免保守、自由和激进，使其与民族文化自觉方向一致，在继承民族传统的同时吸收外来先进文化，促进社会主义民族文化自觉。

According to a view of cultural nationalism, not only Western culture, but also capital ration and technological ration have come to the end. In order to realize great Renaissance of Chinese Culture, we have to go back to traditional Chinese Culture, especially the ＂pre- Confucius culture＂ for new chance. However, the fact that different cultures reacts to one another reminds us that in order to make cultural nationalism reach self-consciousness of national culture, we must, under the general background of interactions between both Chinese and Western cultures, actively guide cultural nationalism to develop consciously, avoiding being conservative, uncontrolled and ridiculous. We must ensure that cultural nationalism must develop in the same direction as self-consciousness of national culture. When inheriting national traditions, we must absorb outstanding foreign cultures so as to promote the self-consciousness of national culture.
