模糊理论与翻译的模糊对等——以王维《鸟鸣涧》三个译本为例

Fuzzy Theory and Fuzzy Equivalence of Translation——Taking the Three English Versions of Wang Wei's Bird Call Valley for Example

模糊是自然语言的基本属性。语言的模糊性给翻译带来了诸多困难。随着模糊语言研究的发展,翻译研究者对语言的模糊性以及如何处理文学作品中的模糊语言产生了浓厚的兴趣。许多研究成果已证明模糊理论对于翻译理论研究、实践操作以及译文质量评价都具有现实指导意义。本文从模糊理论入手,探讨了翻译的模糊性,并以王维《鸟鸣涧》三个译本为例,论述了译文与原文之间不可能达到完全的对等,只能实现模糊对等,不同译本都是对原作的不同程度的接近。

Fuzziness is a basic quality of natural language .The fuzzy attribute of language produces many difficulties to translation .With the development of studies on fuzzy language , researchers on translation study are becoming more and more interested in fuzziness of language and how to deal with the fuzzy lan -guage in literary works .Many of their research achievements have shown that fuzzy theory is of practical direction to the study of translation theory , actual transferring process and evaluation of translated works . This paper based on fuzzy theory , probes into fuzziness of translation .Furthermore , the three translated versions of Wang Wei ’ s Bird Call Valley are taken as examples to elaborate that it is impossible for trans-lators to achieve total equivalence to the original text .It is fuzzy equivalence that is always realized in translation and the different versions of the same text can be regarded as fuzzy equivalences of the original text to varying degrees .
