Substituting Chinese“Dun”for English Foot:Translating Keats's Poetry and Its Metrical Forms into Chinese

济慈是公认的最重要的英国浪漫主义诗人之一,其诗作早在20世纪20年代初即被译介到中国,并且在改革开放之后,在大陆形成了最新一次译介高潮。这次译介高潮恰逢中国大陆诗歌翻译界开展了一次关于格律诗诗体移植问题的大讨论,许多济慈诗歌的中译者以各种形式积极地参与了这次讨论。这次讨论虽未能达成广泛共识,但是对于丰富我国诗歌翻译理念、促成诗歌翻译规范的形成、传播济慈诗歌的影响都具有重要作用。

John Keats is widely recognized as one of the most important British Romantic poets,and his poetry was first translated into Chinese as early as the early 1920s.The 1980s witnessed one of the latest peaks of translating Keats' s poetry into Chinese in China's Mainland.Coincidentally,a heated debate took place in China's Mainland in this period concerming how to translate metrical verse into Chinese.A lot of translators who actively translated Keats' s poetry were also actively involved in this debate.Though no consensus was reached,this debate greatly enriched Chinese poetry translation theories and norms and promoted the dissemination of Keats' s poetry in China.
