Electrically Controllable Behavior of Random Laser in Dye Doped Liquid Crystals

摘要 实验研究了液晶盒盒厚及摩擦方式对随机激光电控特性的影响,并分析了其物理机制。实验制备了3种盒厚的液晶盒,每种盒厚的盒都采取了3种摩擦取向方式(双面平行、双面反向、双面垂直)。不同盒厚的样品随机激光消失的关断电压Vdis分别在2.4 V(100μm)、2.8 V(188μm)、3.3 V(300μm)左右,基本不受摩擦方式影响。该实验通过减小盒厚降低了随机激光的关断电压,为电控随机激光低功耗应用提供了一种可行的方法。 This experiment studied effects of thickness and rubbing direction of the cells on the electrically controllable behavior of random laser in dye doped liquid crystals. The physical mechanisms have been analyzed. We prepared different kinds of DDLC cells with three different thickness,each has three different rubbing direction( double parallel rubbing,double reverse rubbing and double vertical rubbing). The cut off voltage Vdisof different thickness samples are respectively around 2. 4 V( 100 μm),2. 8 V( 188 μm),3. 3V( 300 μm),and are not affected by rubbing direction. This process allows us to reduce the cut off voltage Vdisof random laser by reducing thickness of cells,and provides an available method for the applications of electrically controllable liquid crystal random laser with lovo-power.
