Optimization design of encoding schemes for network coding-based passive optical networks

摘要 接入网业务本地化趋势使得NC(网络编码)在PON(无源光网络)中的应用越来越广泛,而数据包长度不同将导致网络编码包传输过程中的带宽浪费问题。为了提高带宽利用率,减少OLT(光线路终端)能耗,提出了一种新型的包队列编码方式及其实现方案。仿真结果表明所提出的编码机制及其实现方案提高了带宽利用率,有效地降低了解码包对ONU(光网络单元)内存的占用,优化了系统的下行吞吐量并提高了OLT端的节能效率。 The localization of access network services has enabled Network Coding (NC)to be more and more broadly applied in Passive Optical Networks (PON).However,data packets with different lengths result in the waste of bandwidth in the trans-mission of encoding packets.In order to improve the bandwidth utilization rate and reduce the energy consumption at the Opti-cal Line Terminal (OLT),this paper proposes a novel encoding scheme for packets queue and its implementation.Simulation results show that the proposed encoding and implementation scheme improves the bandwidth utilization rate,effectively reduces the occupation of ONU memory by the decoding packets and optimizes the system downlink throughput and the energy efficien-cy of the OLT.
