The estimation of carbon storage played important role in global carbon cycle. Carbon storage estimation through data from continuous forest inventory was considered to be the best way. The research status of the forest carbon storage estimation based on continuous forest inventory system in terms of estimation methodologies,national scales and regional scales was introduced. The existing problems were analyzed. The research tendency was pointed out.
