An Analysis of the Translator's Style in Drama Translation:A Case Study of the Two Chinese Versions of The Merchant of Venice

戏剧翻译必须准确译出人物的语言特色,从而完整再现原作的风格。而译者的风格则通过译者所处的时代背景、对原作的现实态度、遵循的翻译标准等方面呈现给读者。文章通过对莎士比亚名剧《威尼斯商人》两个汉译本的分析,论述了戏剧翻译中译者风格的显形。

Drama translation depends on the faithful representation of the features of the characters＇ speech and the original style,while the translator＇s background,attitude toward the original and translation principles contribute to his style.This paper analyses the two Chinese versions of The Merchant of Venice by Shakespeare and discusses the translator＇s style in drama translation.
