There were many inscriptions in Longmu Temple in Yuecheng Deqing through the dynasties, which were of great significance for researches on the history, culture, and calligraphy in Guangdong. However, because of several reasons, nowadays only one inscribed in Qing Dynasty named Imperial Edict of Hongwu, Ming Dynasty remains while the others are all lost. The inscription, made up of two parts, includes Shangshu Document of Xiaotong Temple and Granted Tablet by Wu Kui of Song Dynasty. Falling-off and character missing occurred owing to long years. Yet correction can be made according to different versions and copies for identifying the origin, historical background, and the carver's life so as to provide valuable resources for studying the temple, and the history, culture, religion and official system in ancient Guangdong.
