摘要身份是后殖民文学关注的焦点之一。《琼斯皇》是美国著名戏剧家尤金·奥尼尔的一部表现主义戏剧。主人公琼斯既是一个民族背叛者又是美国白人社会的牺牲者。这部剧通过呈现琼斯皇从黑奴到皇帝再从皇帝回归到黑奴的身份转变过程,揭示了后殖民统治下美国黑人的双重意识和认同危机。从后殖民视角出发来解读琼斯自我身份的迷失及其后殖民根源和认同危机下琼斯自我身份的重构。 Identity is one of the main focuses of postcolonial literature.The Emperor Jones is an expressionistic drama written by the famous American dramatist Eugene O＇Neill.Emperor Jones is both a betrayer of his own race and a victim of American society.This drama reveals the double consciousness and identity crisis of black Americans under the postcolonial rule through presenting Jones＇ identity transformation from a slave to an emperor then from an emperor back to a slave.Based on postcolonial theory,this thesis aims to interpret Jones＇ loss of self- identity and its postcolonial roots as well as Jones＇ reconstruction of self- identity under identity crisis.
