The west spreading of ancient Japanese Han poems have scarcely been studied by the academic circle, but it is an important issue to reflect the Sino-Japan cultural interaction. Analects of Yang Yi writen by Yang Yi of the Song Dynasty collected a poem written by a Japanese monk Ji Zhao, showing an aspect of the west spreading of ancient Japanese Han poems. What's more, Ji Zhao not only wrote poems, but also had frequent contact with Yang Yi, Ding Wei and Wang Zhu and his father. The account of Ji Zhao in this book was recorded in another book The Visit of Mount Wu Tai written by a Japanese monk Cheng Xun, indicating the return of Ji zhao's poem to his home- town. The west spreading of ancient Japanese Han poems illustrates valuable meaning of the cultural exchanges be- tween China and Japan and has certain academic value.
