The PLC timer control is extensive used in the street lighting system .This control method occu-pies PLC computing resources greatly , and reduces the response speed and real -time of PLC .The paper de-signed a new control method to street lighting system which can fit the different season and time with Siemens S 7-200 series PLC clock instructions .It is proved in practice that the response speed of system with the clock in-struction is increased by 30%, which can meet the design requirements .
