基于光时域反射仪的光纤损耗测试实验

Optical loss test of optical fiber based on optical time domain reflectometer

光时域反射仪(optical time domain reflect meter,OTDR)作为测试光纤的光电一体化仪表,可进行光纤长度、光纤的传输衰减、接头衰减和故障定位等的测量。设计了一个基于工程实际中的常用器材,针对不同工程状况,通过OTDR进行测量,总结了不同工况下的测试曲线特性。通过实验,使学生了解OTDR的工作原理及传感光纤在实际工程中的应用,将理论与实践相结合,激发学生们对光纤传感的兴趣和积极性。

The length of fiber, optical signal transmitting loss,optical signal loss at connector and the position of trouble spot could be measured with the optical time domain reflectometer（OTDR） which is an integrative instrument for testing the fiber. This paper designs an experiment based on the common experimental equipment in engineering practice to get testing curves in different conditions with the OTDR. The students can not only master the operation of OTDR and the application of sensor fiber, link up theory with practice, but also motivate them to have interests and enthusiasm in sensor fiber.
