陀思妥耶夫斯基的长篇小说《白痴》中存在着空白现象,如隐喻、暗示和象征等修辞手法形成的语义空白,省略式和隐藏式的结构空白等。巴赫金指出了陀氏小说具有"未完成性"的特点,但和英伽登提出的"未完成"(空白)有着不同的问题域,前者的动态主要表现在本文层面,后者的动态表现在本文和读者层面。

There are blanks in Dostoevsky＇s novel the Idiot,such as semantic blank by using rhetorical tools like metaphor,allusion,and symbolism,and structure blank by using ellipsis and omission. Bakhtin pointed out that Dostoevsky＇s novels has the characteristic of ＂ being unfinished＂,but this and what Ingarden proposed,that is blank,refer to different domains,with the former revealed mainly at the text level,while the latter at the text and the reader level.
