Li Bo's Contribution to the Extension of Production Technology into the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River in Tang Dynasty

唐代长江下游地区的水利事业已很发达,给生活于此的李皋留下了深刻印象。李皋后来在荆南娴熟地修堤造田,架桥凿井,就得益于下游的生活阅历。而李皋在襄阳发明创造车船,是长江中游造船业、水利灌溉事业长期发展的自然结果。

The water conservancy was very advanced in the lower reaches of the Changjiang River in Tang Dynasty,which left a lasting impression on LiBo. Later,he put up dykes,created rice fields,put bridges across the river and dig wells for water in JingNan area,all of which benefit from his life experience in the lower reaches of the Changjiang River. The waterwheel vessel which was invented by him in XiangYang,had been the natural fruit of the lengthy development of the shipbuilding industry and the water conservancy irrigation in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.
