词是最小的能够独立运用的音义结合体,对某种语言词汇的研究必须要综合考虑音、义两方面因素。汉语词语音、义的演变过程颇为复杂,现在以"觉"字和"覆"字的音义变化为例,遵循词汇音义运动的规律,利用文献考证的方法,展示这两个词通过语音变化作为构词手段,形成新词的过程,为汉语词汇的研究提供最基础的素材。
