The main aesthetic features of Chinese literati paintings are composed of a number of factors, in which the use of ink is the external carrier manifestation. The solving of hierarchical relation of visual representation through ink changes is the rule that Chinese literati painters have always pursued, that is, to pass a vision by monochrome ink has cultural origins. This plain color aesthetics quality of literati paintings is affected by the connotation of Chinese mainstream culture. Through the characterization of aesthetic orientation of colored ink, we find that the generation of the aesthetic orientation of literati paintings is formed by interaction between sects such as Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism in Chinese cultural context.
