民族典籍外译比较研究——以藏族《萨迦格言》英译本为例

A Comparative Study of the Translation of Minority Classics:Two English Versions of Sakya Gnomic Verse as the Exemplar

格言诗是藏族典籍的重要组成部分,外译《萨迦格言》对传播藏族文学和文化大有裨益。以文化传播学为理论基础,辅以语料库翻译学的技术手段,对Davenport(2000)和李正栓(2013)两部《萨迦格言》英译本进行比较研究,讨论二者在独特用语、理解与表达、显化与隐化及文化因素等方面是否存在明显差异性或一致性。这种跨学科的研究方式不但有助于民族文学、文化的对外传播,而且能以民族典籍外译与外译研究的方式为国家实施"文化走出去"的战略添砖加瓦。

Gnomic verse is an important part of Tibetan classics, whose translating in foreign languages will be good to the spread of Tibetan literature and culture. Based on the theories related to Cultural Communication Science and aided by the technological means from Corpus-based Translation Studies, this article makes a comparative study on the two English version of Sakya Gnomic Verse, by Davenport in 2000, and Li Zhengshuan in 2013. In this study, whether there exist some distinctive differences or similarities in unique words, understanding and expression, explication and implication, culture - loaded words, etc. , will be discussed. Under the Strategy of Culture Dissemination, the interdisciplinary study benefits to the （research on） translation of minority classics and culture, their external communication in particular.
