In 21st century, the information network, high and new scientific and technological achievements are widely used, the digitalization, intellectualization, standardization and systemization and networking have become an inevitable trend in the development of modern electric power metering device, and the intelligent watt-hour meter is born at the right moment. This paper introduces the intelligent watt-hour meter and its application, analyzes its common faults and handling methods, and probes into the self-inspection methods, electricity-saving measures and development trends of the intelligent watt-hour meter.
