Relevance Theory and Translator’s Subjectivity

关联翻译理论认为,译者与源语文本作者以及译者与译入语文本读者是双重的明示—推理过程,译者在翻译过程中要充分发挥主体性,以使源语文本作者与译入语文本读者成功实现交际。译者主体性并不等同于译者地位,且译著读者越是感受不到译者的存在,越是说明译者主体性得到很好的发挥。

Relevance theory believes that the double ostensive-inferential communication between the translator and the author of the source language text, the reader of the target language text as well, calls for the translator to use his subjec- tivity to realize the communication between the author of the SL and the reader of the TL. Translator ＇ s subjectivity does not necessarily mean that the translator＇s personal influence be found in the TL text, what＇s more, the translator＇s invisi- bility means that the subjectivity is given to the full play.
