Core-cover yams are gaining popularity in the manufacturing of value added garments. Many methods are in use to manufacture these yarns. In order to manufacture them SUccessfully and to convert them into useful products, various characteristics of core-cover yams are required to be evaluated. These test methods are differ- ent from the methods that are used for regular yarns and also there is the scarcity of know-how to evaluate the properties. Therefore, this paper implies various characteristics of core-cover yarns and their evaluating methods.
