Objective To investigate the effects of radiotherapy in comprehensive treatment of breast cancer patients. Methods 70 cases of Ⅰ , Ⅱ stage breast cancer patients treated in our hospital during December 2010 to December 2011 were selected, they were randomly divided into observation group and control group,35 cases in each group, the control group treated with breast-conserving surgery plus adjuvant chemotherapy, the observation group treated with ra- diotherapy based on the control group, the therapeutic effects and adverse reactions were compared. Results The sur- vival rate in observation group was 97.14%(34/35),distant metastasis rate was 2.85% (1/35),those of the control group was 97.14% (34/35), and 2.85% (1/35),no significant difference between the groups (P〉0.05).Local recurrence rate of observation group was 2.85% (1/35),that of the control group was 11.42% (4/35),the difference was statistically signifi- cant (P〈0.05).Observation group had 13 cases of adverse reactions, the control group had 16 cases of adverse reactions, there was no significant difference between the groups (P〉0.05).Postoperative quality of life and appearance cosmetic results of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group (P〈0.05). Conclusion Radiation therapy can reduce the recurrence rate of breast cancer patients and improve cosmetic results and quality of life of pa- tients,it is worthly of popularization and application.
