Anthraquinones exerted multiple pharmacological actions, which were the principal active components from Rhubarb. The study on their pharmacokinetics could be helpful to guide the clinical medication. The success in the study was based on the establishment of a good biopharmaceutical analysis method. The biopharmaceutical analysis methods for anthraquinones were summarized. The influencing factors on their pharmacokinetics were also discussed.
