Modern cities are commonly plagued with traffic congestion. Ningbo is not an exception. After six years of construction, the Rail Transit Line 1 is about to be put into use, which may play a crucial role in easing the traffic congestion and facilitating the development of public transportation in Ningbo. However, although Ningbo is enter into a 'subway era', there are some challenges this city may inevitably encounter in the future. First, some inconvenience caused by the construction of other rail transit lines in Ningbo, such as noises, dusts, and housing demolition and relocation, may still be problematic. Second, managing different public transportations, including buses, rail transit, and public bikes, will be a big challenge as well. Third, many local manufacturing enterprises may find it difficult to grab the opportunity and produce the advanced goods for rail transit.
