隐喻作为认知和语言的纽带,在英语词汇习得中扮演着不可或缺的角色。本文在论述隐喻理论的基础上,提出了基于隐喻的英语词汇习得方法:重视基本词汇的基本词义及其隐喻意义;借助隐喻的认知功能,深入理解一词多义;运用隐喻思维,正确理解语境中的词义,注意词汇隐喻意义的跨文化差异。

As a link between congition and language, metaphor plays an indispensable role in English vocabulary acquisition. The paper introduces the theory of metaphor and puts forward that English vocabulary acquisition should base on it; it argues that learners should emphasis on basic vocabulary and its metaphorical meaning; should understand the polysemy by means of the cognitive function of metaphor; should also put the vocabulary in a right context to understand correctly and pay more attention to cultural differences of the vocabulary＇s metaphorical meaning through metaphor thinking.
