Shanghai Caohejing New Technology Development Zone and Euromandar-in Developments Limited (jointly established by British Company, British Arlington Company and Euromandarin Co, Ltd.) will jointly set up a hi-tech industrial garden- 'Scientific & Technological Oasis' with an area of 60 hectares in the western area of Shanghai Caohejing New Technology Development Zone. At the first stage, the joint venture will invest US$ 25 million in total into the construction of the oasis with the registered capital being USS 10.02 million. Through increasing investmet ty stages and rolling development, the total investments of the whole project are expected to reach US$ 500 million. At present, the project of build- ing 'Scientific & Technological Oasis' has already entered the stage of overall planning and design.The project of 'Scientific & Technological Oasis' will focus on the development of information industry, including software development and manufacture,research and devel-opment of computer network systems and telecommunications technologies. The 'Scientific & Technological Oasis' will combine advanced investment, business operation and management modes introduced abroad with Chinese characteristics. In view of the fact that the clients in the garden are mainly hi-tech researching and developing en-terprises with stress on IT projects, the 'Scientific & Technological Oasis' will introduce the mode of desgning and constructing Brit-ish Artington Scientific & Technological Garden.The 'Scientific & Technological Oasis' will offer all-round and top- class services to both domestic and foreign clients in the garden in the light of ISO9001 authentication standards. It can be predicted that, with the joint effort of Chinese and British sides, a hi-tech scientific and technological garden at the world's advanced level- 'Scientific & Technological Oasis' will emerge in Shanghai in the nearfuture, and it will certainly become a perfecthome for both domestic and foreign investorsof hi-tech enterprises.
