《新青年》与《学衡》翻译的差异

The Differences between New Youth and Xue Heng's Translation

在引入的外国思想、翻译选材、翻译语言三个方面研究了《新青年》与《学衡》的翻译的差异。《新青年》前期通过翻译引入了西方的民主科学、男女平等、易卜生主义、实验主义等思想,《学衡》通过翻译主要引入了白璧德的新人文主义。《新青年》在翻译选材上侧重现实主义,取材比较广泛,《学衡》翻译侧重古典主义,尤其重视古希腊罗马文化,以西方文学的古典正宗为主。《新青年》翻译用白话文,《学衡》翻译坚持用文言文。

This paper stresses on the differences between New Youth and Xue Heng ’s Translation from the following three aspects ：translated foreign thoughts ,translation objects ,and translation lan-guage .New Youth introduced foreign thoughts such as democracy ,science ,equality between man and woman ,Ibsenism ,pragmatism and so on .In contrast ,Xue Heng introduced Irving Babbitt’s New Hu-manism .New Youth translated various objects especially realism ,while Xue Heng’s translation focused on classicism especially culture of old Greece and Rome .In addition ,New Youth used vernacular in trans-lation w hile Xue Heng used classical Chinese .
