Research on Dialect of Southwestern Henan from 1982 to 2012: An Overview

南阳市地处豫西南,文章的豫西南方言指除桐柏方言以外的南阳方言。1982—2012三十年间豫西南方言的研究成果主要包括方言著作4部、研究论文50余篇,成果不菲。前二十年的研究,涉及南阳市辖区内方言的内部分区、语音、词汇和语法等内容,研究主要聚焦在普—方的对比上和服务于推广普通话的层面上。后10年的代表成果是30篇论文,研究呈现新趋势,既注重内部差异的探求,也注重多角度比较。

The dialect of southwestern Henan Province refers to the dialect of Nanyang with the exception of Tongbai dialect in the present study. During the past thirty years from 1982 to 2012,profound achievements have been made in terms of the research on the dialect of southwestern Henan,with four monographs and more than 50 research papers published. Research in the initial twenty years touched upon many aspects such as Nanyang dialect＇s regional partition,pronunciation,lexicon,grammar,et cetera,with research attentions mainly focused on the comparison between Nanyang dialect and mandarin Chinese and on the popularization of the latter. Whereas,research endeavors in the latter ten years have witnessed the publication of thirty research papers. From these papers,it can be observed that there have been new developments in the research on Nanyang dialect,with scholars not only emphasizing the study of inner dialectical differences,but also stressing linguistic comparisons from different angles.
