论文学翻译补偿的原则——以莫言小说英译为例

On the Principles of Literary Translation Compensation——A Case Study of the Translations of Mo Yan's Novels

由于中西语言与社会文化的差异,翻译过程中难免会造成损失。较之其它类别翻译,文学作品的翻译更具其特殊性,注重原作艺术感染力和审美意旨的传达,因此损失更是比比皆是、体现在方方面面,因此翻译补偿手段必不可少。但任何有效的补偿都应当遵从一定的原则,本文将以莫言小说英译为例讨论六种主要补偿原则。

＂Losses＂ in translation is inevitable because of the differences between Chinese and Western languages and social cultures. Compared with other categories of translation, the translation of literary works has its own particularity, with more emphasis being put on the conveying of the original artistic appeal and aesthetic intention, and the phenomena of translation loss in various aspects are found everywhere. Therefore, it is necessary for the translator to adopt compensation methods. However, any effective compensation should follow certain principles. This paper is expected to discuss six main compensation principles by taking the translations of Mo Yan＇s novels as examples.
