近代中国社会转型与警政改革视阈下的女子警察

Female Police from the Perspective of Social Transformation of China and the Reformation of the Police Force

女子警察的出现顺应了近代中国社会发展的内在要求,也是中国近代警政建设的必然结果。然而无论是施政机关还是女性自身,对于女性步入传统的男性专属职业领域,都没有做好充足的准备,兼之近代中国政治生态环境的急速变化,相对同时代的其他女性职业群体而言,女子警察未能有突出建树。女子警察的设立尽管存在初次尝试的诸多不足,带有很大的局限性,但从另一方面来看,女警的出现不仅完善了近代警察制度,更拓展了女性从业领域,其历史价值大于现实价值,象征意义大于实际意义。

The appearance of female police was a result of the demands of contemporary development, as well as the construction of Police Force in Chinese society. Neither the administrative agencies nor the female themselves did not have adequate preparations for women to enter into this male-dominated profession. In addition, swift political changes in China in recent decades had not been an enabling environment for the female police to advance as much as women in other professionals. Although the female police in this initial stage of development had many limitations, their appearance not only improved the modern police institution but also expanded the field of female employees. Its historical value is greater than the actual value. The appearance of female police, though it is more symbolical than real, is significant.
