中国古代数学的辉煌时期有三 :《九章算术》时期 ,《缀术》时期 ,《数书九章》时期。中国古代数学衰落的原因有三 :独尊儒术 ,蔑视逻辑 ,轻视数学知识 ;崇尚玄学 ,迷信数术 ,歪曲数学思想 ;固步自封 ,墨守成规 ,拒绝数学符号。

There were the three periods for the brightness of the ancient Chinese mathematics:the period of Nine Chapters on the Mathematical Art;the period of Zhuishu,the period of Arithmetic in Nine Sections.There were the three causes for the decline of the ancient Chinese mathematics:advocated the Confucianism and despised the logic;advocated the metaphysics and distorted the mathematical thought;stuck to the conventions and despised the mathematical symbol.
