The thermodynamics and extra thermodynamics study on the separation of aromatic positional isomers on the stationary phases of calix[4]arene derivatives has been executed. The relationship between the selectivity and the thermodynamic parameters of the separation process of a series of aromatic positional isomers has been investigated. The retention mechanisms of the separation process have been also discussed.
