摘要
谷歌声称要打造世界上最大的数字图书馆,实现信息的一站式搜索,而为实现这一目标,其进行了书籍的数字化。扫描书籍必然要涉及著作权方面的问题,谷歌用"选择退出"(opt-out)机制来回应版权纠纷。本文介绍了选择退出机制以及其优势与存在的弊端,其次对该机制进行思考以及扩展其延伸意义。
Google claimed to build the world's largest digital library and realize one-stop search of information. For achieving this goal, it digitizes books. Making books digital must involve copyright issues, and Google uses "opt-out" mechanism in response to the copyright disputes. This article introduces "opt- out" mechanism and its advantages and disadvantages, reflects on the mechanism and then expands its significance.
