Objective The aim of the case report was to give physicians a better understanding of hypoplastic myelodysplastic syndrome(MDS) with tetrasomy 8.Method The characteristics of the disease were discussed with references to this subject.Result and conclusion Tetrasomy 8 may be found in some hematological diseases asomy with a dominant in monocy^tic malignant proliferative disease.It's effective and safe to treat the disease with GM CSF and low dose Ara C.
