摘要
Chomsky语言理论的致命失误在于对基本语言事实的认定不准确。如果与生俱来的普遍语法中不包括一个普遍词汇,则逻辑不通;如果习得具体语法的同时也习得了具体词汇,又与事实不符。对自然语言以及数学那样庞大的知识系统,只有学习和掌握程度的差异,不存在学会与否的问题。任何人都有听不懂的母语新句子,也有说不出来的新句子。诺贝尔科学奖得主获奖的原因是他们说出了其他人想说而说不出来、众多意义相关联的新句子。这些新句子源于他们发现的新知识,而不是某种句型派送机制。
It is illogic that Universal Grammar does not include a universal vocabulary and it is not true that children can ac quire a particular vocabulary instantaneously. Any persons, no matter how learned they are, can only know part of acom plex knowledge system such as mathematics and a well-developed living language. It is knowledge that constructs the foundation for any person to produce and understand new sentences.
