边疆研究视域下的“中原中心”与“天山意象”

“Central Plains Centrism” and “Tianshan Image” from the Perspective of Borderland Research

古代中原士大夫、文人墨客往往基于"中原中心"思维定势,通过诗词等文学作品对西域、辽东等边疆地域进行丰富的想象和勾画。这种想象力被运用到西域,结果产生了"天山意象",即西域被想象成异质的、荒蛮的乃至动荡的空间。所以,唯有破除"天山意象",以边疆地带为边疆研究本位,站在边疆的立场体察边疆,而非仅仅从中原的视角俯视边疆,才能将边疆地域破碎的事和人连缀成一幅相对完整的画面,进而勾勒出一副包括边疆在内的比较完整的中国历史画卷。

On the basis of the mindset of ＂Central Plains Centrism＂, scholar officials and literati ininland China implanted in their fertile imagination and sketch the border areas of the Western Regions andEastern Liao as a heterogeneous, untamed and turbulent region in their poems and other literary works.Therefore, only by shaking off the ＂Tianshan image＂ and by observing the borderland in the standpoint ofthe borderland rather than just looking at the borderland from that of the Central Plains can we make upa relatively complete picture of the fragmented things and people in the border areas and further sketch amore complete scroll of a borderland-included Chinese history.
