In light of Marguerite Duras＇s life in Paris and her writings, and her understanding of this cos-mopolis, this paper explores the process of the cultural spirit construction jointly participated by the subjectand the urban history. Analyzing the interactions of Duras and her feelings toward Paris, it points out thetextual presentation of the periphery and the central imagery transformation, aiming to expose her historicalreflections and cultural characterization in her literary presentations and urban cultural construction.
