摘要
校长之于大学的重要性不言而喻。本文选取了英国五所不同类型的大学,运用文本分析法对这五所大学校长招聘启事中的任职资历进行了解读。本研究发现:五所大学在校长任职资历要求上都重视校长的学术背景(学术性特征),领导能力和管理经验与能力(管理与领导性特征),执行能力、公关能力和融资能力(商业性特征)和大学校长的适应性(个性特征)等维度;但在其他维度上也存在一些差异。在此基础上,本文对这些共性与个性进行了较为深入的解读。
It is axiomatic that the Vice -Chancellor (VC) is of great importance to a university. By employing the method of text analysis, this paper addresses the eligibility of VCs specified in the appointment of VC in five universities, each of which belongs to a different genre. On the one hand, all the five universities highlight the following characteristics attached to VC candidates: academic background (academic-related characteristics); leadership and management capabilities and experiences (managerial and leadership characteristics); executive ability, public relations skills and fundraising ability (business-related characteristics);adaptability (personal characteristics). On the other hand, there are some differences between the five case universities in other aspects of the eligibility of VC candidates. The paper then interprets why the commonalities and differences co-exist.
