Objective To investigate the curative effect and clinical application value of inhalation of 4% hypertonic saline (4% NaCl) for treatment of mild and moderate capillary bronchitis in children. Methods One hundred seventy-eight patients with mild and moderate bronchiolitis were divided into treatment group and control group by double-blind contrastive methods. On the basis of conventional therapy, the 89 cases of the treatment group were given 2.0 mL of 4% NaCl inhalation solution plus 2.5 mg of sulfate sardine amide; 89 cases in the control group inhaled 2.0 mL of 0. 9% NaCl solution plus 2.5 mg of sulfate sardine amide, with 8 h per time until the symptoms completely disappeared. The changes of main indexes related to body and the changes of symptoms and hospitalization time difference were observed before and after treatment. Results Asthmatic response time, recovery time of body temperature, cough disappearing time, recovery time of pulmonary wheezes and crackles, and hospitalization time in treatment group were shortened compared with those of the control group. And the total effective rate of treatment group was 91.01%, significantly higher than that in the control group, whose total efficiency was 73.03 %, the difference was statistically significant (P 〈 0. 05 ).Conclusion By given 4% NaCl inhalation solution in patients with mild and moderate bronchitis, the symptoms can be quickly relieved, complications can be reduced, and the course of disease Can be shortened, therefore, it has clinical curative effect.
