An Analysis of Meaning Construction of Chinese Net Words Originated from English

英语是目前世界语言中使用最广泛的语言。网络的普及和信息技术的高速发展,加速了英语的传播,并且对汉语网络词语也具有较大影响。探讨来源于英语的汉语网络词语,按其译入汉语的方式进行分类,分析其主要来源及构成特征,并运用概念整合理论对其意义建构及背后的认知机制进行阐释,结果发现,英源汉语网络词语的意义认知机制主要是类推、概念隐喻和概念整合。

With the development of information technology and the Internet, English as a most widely used language in the world has accelerated its transmission, which has a great impact on Chinese, especially on Chinese Net words. This paper discusses Chinese Net words originated from English. It classifies Chinese Net words according to their forms in translation, analyzes their major origins and formation characteristics. It applies Conceptual Blending Theory to expound their meaning construction and cognitive mechanisms behind them. The paper finds that analogy, conceptual metaphor and conceptual blending are the main cognitive mechanisms behind them.
