In an era when knowledge economy is making a big st ep forward, the function of the economic value of science and technology has bee n well understood. This paper, however starting from a viewpoint of science hist ory, puts emphasis on man's self-realization, evolvement of knowledge pattern a nd change of moral atlitudes. It discusses the value of science and technology a s regards human thinking and points out that they plays an important role in thi s respect.
