南京是国务院首批公布的中国历史文化名城之一,在漫长的历史中先后有10个朝代、政权在这里建都立国,地面和地下文化遗产十分丰富。加强环境建设,保护、开发和利用好南京的文化资源,不仅是现代城市规划、建设和管理的重要内容,而且是促进城市可持续发展的重要动力之一。

Nanjing is among the first batch of “famous histor ical and cultural cities” in China defined by China's State Council.Thanks to t he long history of being capital in ten dynasties and regimes,Nanjing enjoys rich resources of historical relics above and under ground.To intensify en vironmental progress,properly exploit and utilize the resource of historical rel ics are not only an important part of a modern city's planning,construction and administration,but also an important driving force of a city's sustainable devel opment.
